This highly animated scene could have just as equally been called ‘Stand Off’ or ‘Determined Defence’ – both of which aptly describe this ‘chance encounter’ between a Border terrier and a vixen. Although taken by surprise, the vixen is determined to protect her young cubs by holding the terrier at bay as they quickly slip away.
